With over fifteen years of experience in portfolio optimisation and sustainable energy trading, Barış leads work on renewable energy, battery management and flexibility markets at Nexus Elektrik, which he founded in 2020 with an entrepreneurial vision, and at Gain Aggregation, of which he is a founding partner.
Barış began his career at Limak Enerji before joining Aksa Enerji as a trader, where he specialised in energy trading, risk management and contract structures and played an active role in establishing the company's trading department. In 2016 he served as adviser to the Deputy Minister at the Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, taking on significant responsibilities in energy policy development, public–market relations and strategic work.
Having completed his secondary education at Beverly Hills High School and Ankara Atatürk Anatolian High School, Barış graduated in Civil Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. He combines his international academic background with market experience to develop innovative projects in virtual power plant (VPP) optimisation and renewable power purchase agreements.
